Background

MyMktPlace ("MMP") is an innovative marketplace platform designed to bring sellers (both private and corporate) and buyers together in a secure and user-friendly environment for buying and selling new and second hand items and products, with a focus on automotive parts. Whether you're an individual looking to grow your sales and/or declutter, or a business seeking to expand your reach, MyMktPlace offers a trusted website where transactions are facilitated and executed with safety and convenience.

Mymktplace was born from the idea of its founder, who as an avid classic car lover whom struggled to find a convenient, easy to use and reliable platform for high quality new and second-hand items that provided safe transactions with a direct delivery option included (whereby sellers are vetted, and both seller and buyer do not deal directly with each other). In addition, he believes deeply in sustainability and a second life for different types of products as long as the appropriate guard rails are in place to ensure quality of goods as well as to eliminate risks present for sellers and buyers in traditional marketplace platforms.

When looking at the broader second-hand goods landscape in SA (including the large informal market), this type of comprehensive one stop shop was missing across most markets. Combining his interest to fill this void in the market together with his passion for entrepreneurship and minimising wastage/enhancing sustainability and longevity of goods, he set about developing this innovative platform that was aptly named Mymktplace.

We have extensively utilised, researched and analysed other marketplaces and ecommerce sites, and have aimed to differentiate ourselves as well as significantly enhance the offerings compared to other marketplace platforms with a focus on quality of goods sold, safety of data and ease of use with the integration of courier (via Courier Guy and Pargo) and payment services (via Netcash).

For our initial launch we have focused on the following categories, noting the aim is for users to be able to sell and buy most items through the platform (subject to size, weight and transportation restrictions): Automotive parts, car audio, Sports and memorabilia, Electronics, Furniture, Baby items, Pet items, Luxury goods and Clothing (including sneakers).
