Listing and Purchasing Overview

Seller

  1. Seller registers as either a private individual or corporate customer with key info requirements and receives email prompt to verify email address
  2. Seller supporting docs (ID, POR, bank details [ewallet option also available]) are reviewed for accuracy and validity
  3. Once steps 1 and 2 above are completed the seller is approved to list products and is allocated a seller number (which allows products to be viewed from specific sellers whilst retaining anonymity)
  4. Sellers list products with specific prompts/directions/guidelines around content of listing, and need to pay careful attention to fields such as product dimensions which needs to be completed accurately for the correct shipping charges to be loaded for buyers to settle on checkout

Buyer

  1. Buyers have a streamlined registration process with key details required (e.g. Name, contact number, email and delivery address)
  2. Buyers can use keyword searches (including filters) and/or categories to find the product that they require (or utilise the product sourcing service offered)
  3. Buyers can view other products from a specific seller when adding a product to their cart to optimise on courier costs
  4. Buyer check out once basket is finalised and can choose between multiple payment options including manual EFT, Ozow (online eft), Debit/Credit Card and Payflex, and courier options via Courier Guy or Pargo.

Dispatch and Payment

  1. Goods are collected from seller and delivered to buyer who has 24 hours to accept the goods (waybill is blank on collection details so that buyer is not aware where products where collected from to align to anonymity safety policy of platform). It is critically important that sellers take a pic of the goods before sealing packaging/box and after sealing it, and buyers do the same upon receipt of packaging/box and after opening it, as this will assist greatly during the returns process.
  2. The seller’s listing price is inclusive of the platform fee and payment is made to them (net of platform fee of 12.5%) once the order is accepted by buyer (a buyer has 24 hour from receipt of goods to do this else an order is automatically accepted to avoid payment delays to sellers). Sellers should therefore load their product prices with consideration to this construct as the amount they load the item for will not be grossed up (e.g. If a seller loads an item for R100 then they will be paid R87.50 (R100 less R12.50 platform fee)).
  3. Depending on the type of product, time period that has elapsed as well as other prevailing factors, a buyer can return the product to seller eg not what was advertised, damaged, etc. Mymktplace guarantees the refund for these qualifies returns which provides buyers with additional peace of mind as they are not reliant only on the seller accepting the refund and reimbursing the funds.
